AKC Group Classes
All AKC Group Classes are taught in a 8-week program on a continuing basis. Clients of Remarkable K9 are encourage to attend on a regular basis and anyone from the public are also invited to attend. If you miss a particular lesson, you can jumping on the next scheduled rotation.
- Week 1- Introductions & Evaluations of your dog
- Weeks (2-7)– Instruction
- Week 8 – Testing
Puppy S.T.A.R. (6 weeks)
Training classes teach you how to best communicate with your puppy. Organized training classes also provide an opportunity for your dog to socialize with other dogs. By participating in a program to earn the AKC- S.T.A.R. Puppy certification, you'll be able to get information on all of your puppy-raising questions including housebreaking, chewing, and the most effective way to teach practical skills such as coming when called. AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy training is a natural lead into the AKC- Canine Good Citizen Program. |
Canine Good Citizen: (6 weeks)
Teach your dog canine citizenship with our comprehensive 6-week curriculum that culminates with the AKC CGC test. The program is a two-part program that stresses responsible pet ownership for owners and basic good manners for dogs. The AKC CGC Program provides an excellent foundation for more advanced training and teaches your best friend to be courteous. Many dog owners choose CGC training as the first step in training their dogs. As you work with your dog to teach the CGC skills, you'll discover the many benefits and pleasures of training your dog. Training will enhance the bond between you and your dog. Well trained obedient canines respond well to household routines and have good manners in the presence of people and other dogs. They fully enjoy the company of their owner(s) who took the time to provide training, intellectual stimulation, and a high-quality life. When your dog passes the 10-step CGC test, the evaluator will give you the official documentation to send to the AKC for your certificate and to register accomplishments. |
AKC Community Canine: (6 weeks)
This is the advanced level of the AKC-CGC program. As with the CGC, AKC Community Canine has a 10-step test of skills that dogs must pass to earn the official AKC Community Canine title. This is a title that appears on the dog's title record at AKC as “CGCA,” Canine Good Citizen Advanced. |
URBAN Canine Good Citizen: (6 weeks)
As with CGC, AKC Urban CGC requires a 10-step test of skills that dogs must pass to earn the official AKC Urban CGC title. This particular set of skills is predominantly important to dogs that live or frequent the city. These skills will challenge your dog to learn the unique skills needed in an urban environment and build you and your dogs confidence simultaneously. |
